huh

Men's short program was on live this morning! D: I hate that the TV schedule only comes out in the paper every morning, I'm too busy rushing to work to watch/make my mum tape anything.
Went to check the results and Plushenko's first. Which is great (and totally expected), but why is Tomas Verner a speck on the list at nineteenth?? :/

PART II

Okay I fell asleep while I was typing that last night.
So anyway, we eventually found our way to the front, on the left. It was pretty close to the stage but surprisingly not crowded. And they played Map of the Problematique, which was brilliant. I think I almost cried. Didn't manage to get it on video though.
At some point Amanda wanted to go to the toilet and when we left they were playing United States of Eurasia. When we came back in, Matt was just starting on the intro to Sunburn. I went OHMYGOD SUNBURN and started running to the front and trying to drag Amanda with me. And I was videoing while I ran, I think all those standing-still people I ran past thought I was crazy. But I was really happy! It's not a very popular song, and they don't play it so often I think.
Where we were standing (front left), the people were really... sparse. And quite dead. I think the only people who were actually jumping were me and Amanda and the Caucasian guy next to us. He was really nice too, because I carried her so that she could look for Shawn and Tian and he turned to me and said Do you need help with that? (Got to practice carrying my sister... It wasn't difficult when she was still, but when she started trying to mosh I kind of staggered under the weight.)
They played Uprising, Supermassive Black Hole, Map, Starlight, Stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, Sunburn, Time is Running Out, Resistance, Undisclosed Desires, KoC. Plus stuff I can't remember/wasn't familiar with. I got quite a few videos, but I stupidly covered the mike with my hand a lot, so the audio's pretty bad in parts. And I think I deleted Time is Running Out by accident during the concert when I was frantically trying to clear space for KoC. Darn. Also, the zoom function on my camera is awesome. (: As I will demonstrate in the next post or so.
Actually there's a lot to say but can't be bothered to write it all. It was brilliant and fantastic and bloody awesome and I hope I never forget it and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Memory is so fickle.
They'll keep us apart and they won't stop breaking us down,

LOVE IS OUR RESISTANCE

I'm partially deaf and my ears are ringing and I probably won't be able to talk tomorrow but I! don't! care! because OMG MUSE.
There was this bit where my sister and I were walking back to the queue and we heard Muse doing their soundcheck and I couldn't stop grinning.
Also, I am not touching alcohol for a long time. It all started when Padma asked if I wanted to go for drinks after the show, but I said no because I had to work the next day. And so I brilliantly suggested that we buy drinks there. (It is a very noob thing to do- please if you queue for a concert try to bring as little as possible.) And then we thought we had to go in already (false alarm) so Padma and I downed our Barcardis really quickly, and I made Jocelyn rush over to join us. I ran to get Jocelyn and then back to join the queue, I was really hyped up and my heart was racing and it wouldn't stop. And my face was really red, apparently. So I sat down and thought of slow, peaceful songs- Azure Ray's These White Lights Will Bend to Make Blue and This Place is a Prison by The Postal Service- but it didn't help. So I went to sleep. And when I woke up my face was a normal colour but I was a bit lightheaded but I thought it was fine. When we had to stand up to go in though, my vision got spotted black and my ears were ringing, the way it does when you're going to faint. I was really freaked out and kept telling myself that I refused to faint so I kept walking (focussing on Angelia's blue shirt and Padma's grey one) but it got really bad at the bag check area, I couldn't see at all so I leaned against the wall and called for Padma. After that I got escorted away to a room and two paramedic people came to see me hahaha. I felt super bad though because I was rushing Jocelyn to be early and telling Angelia not to faint during the concert and here I was nearly fainting before the concert even started. And by the time we got in we'd be at the back. But thankfully it was alright because they let us straight into the standing area.
Saosin and Rise Against are not too bad live, but I still don't like them. It was pretty sad, because most of the crowd was only there for Muse. I was standing right behind where the hardcore moshers ended, people beside and behind me were mostly keeping still, maybe bopping a little. Heh.
During the interval right before Muse Amanda and Tian decided to go to the back to get water, so Shawn, Amanda, Tian and I went to the back. And of course, Muse came onstage. Uprising, and I was jumping like crazy and I was the only one, the back people were seriously just standing around. The view wasn't bad, it was just a bit far away.

YAY YAY YAY

Muse concert tomorrow!! Or today actually, seeing as it's past twelve already.
So excited but I feel like a concert noob because I have no idea what time to go/what to bring/wear.
Angelia called at nine plus just now:
'Are you at Vivo now?? I'm at Vivo I could go visit you!'
'Uh no, usually I work the morning shift!'
'But I thought you said you work from ten to seven?'
'Uh yes... and is it seven now?'
'Oh right.'
Shaun at work after lunch hour:
'Christine leveled up! She can do the cash register and pack and handle the crowd!'
Sometimes all is bright and happy in the world and I am quite efficient. (Those times are far and few between.) This morning, I was pretty cheery and my customers were nice and I was selling Mozaikus at the speed of light. Then there was this old-ish tai tai-ish lady (the kind that you should fear- they're either really nice or really mean) who came up to the counter with two donuts on her tray. She was prodding them with her tongs and glaring at me. 'Why are your donuts so hard huh? When were they made? This morning?' And I was a bit unnerved but soldiered on and said, 'Yes but oh uh, actually our methods of making the donuts are different.' To which she retorted 'Yes I know but even then donuts should be soft.' (And she bought them anyway.)
And after that my happy streak was gone. Please be good customers, the littlest things do make a difference.
Also, I have been mainlining Merlin. So much love! Merlin's brilliant and Arthur's gorgeous and Merlin and Arthur together are just off the charts levels of adorableness. (And Jasmine was right, Arthur looks really good when he's heartbroken and pining.) I like Lancelot, and Gwen and Lancelot are pretty good together.
